Age Groups
- Players will be put into age groups based on their birthday on February 14th, 2025. Boys and Girls may be paired together to maximize tee sheet and pairings. Below are the age groups and there will be a Boys winner and Girl’s winner for each age group.
- 9 & under
- 10-12
- 13-15
- 16-18

Format
- This event is an individual STROKE PLAY event
- 9 & under will play 9 holes each day (18-hole tournament) starting on Hole #10
- 10-12, 13-15 and 16-18 age groups will play 18 holes each day (36-hole tournament)
Yardages
- Yardages are based on the US Kids Golf Longleaf teeing system and will be scaled using an average yardage of those age groups. Tournament committee will have the right to adjust based on the field size and ages of players in each age grouping. Below are approximate yardages:
Boys (distances are
- 9 & under – (1700-2000 yards) *Hole #10 start*
- 10-12 – 5200-5600 yards
- 13-15 – 6000-6500 yards
- 16-18 – 6600-6800 yards

Girls
- 9 & under – 1650-1800 yards *Hole #10 start*
- 10-12 – 5000-5600 yards
- 13-15 – 5600-5900 yards
- 16-18 – 5900-6200 yards

Registration Deadline/Tee Times
- All players must register and be paid in full by February 3th 11:59pm. Tee times will be released 2 days prior to the event. Each day will consist of morning tee times starting at 8:30am in 8-minute intervals.
Caddie Policy
- Only players in the 9 & under age group are REQUIRED to have a caddie for this event. All other players MAY NOT have a caddie.
Rules
- This event will be played under USGA rules. All local rules and special announcements will be sent out via email the week of the event.
Cart Policy
- Players and Caddies may not use a golf cart with the exception of the 9 & under age group. Players MAY ride in carts in between holes but MUST walk from during play of each hole. Spectator carts will not available for rental, however we will consider cart access on a case by case basis. Click here to request a golf cart (click here). Note that our leadership team will review all requests and be in contact with the applicant by Feb. 3, 2025.
Rules Committee
- This committee will be made up of the Tournament Director and staff. All final rulings will be made by Tournament Director
Playoff Policy

Each age group will have an opportunity to complete playoff on the course. Playoff holes will be determined by Tournament Director based on holes available. Playoff will be a sudden death format. In case of weather or darkness, we will go to scorecard playoff used in the JTI Playoff Policy.
Format for Two Day Event:
Four Age Divisions for both Girls and Boys
1: U9
2: 10 – 12
3: 13-15
4: 16 – 18
Players will play their ball tee to green from select tees based on US Kids Golf distances.
- Juniors U9 will play 9 Holes on Each Day
- Juniors 10-12, 13-15, & 16-18 will play 18 holes a day. No Golf Carts will be offered to the player nor the caddy. Players are able to either carry or make use of a pull cart.
- Exemptions to other events will be updated over the coming weeks and announced on the @jimthorpeinvitational & @unitedgolfersassociation FB and IG Accounts.
Tournament Fees:
- $300 (Payment will be due after invitations have been sent)
- Parent/Caddies costs are $150 (each) to attend the two receptions and “Investing in You” Panel Seminar
Cost Includes:
- Two Day Golf Event, Golf Clinic, Welcome Reception Dinner, Breakfast Daily, Award Reception Reception, Breakfast Daily, Invitation to the Awards Ceremony.
- Tournament Swag Bag & Signed Poster of Golf Legends
